1999-2000 Annual Report

Mission Statement
Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, and Homeless No More, Inc. opened Angel Guardian Home in May 2000. This residence provides supportive, long term housing to women with mental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities and up to three of their minor children.

Since its inception in 1984, Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women has responded to the needs of disadvantaged women through their non-sectarian continuum of care. Good Shepherd’s programs serve women and children with dignity and love so that they may return to a life of self-sufficiency and well being.
Inspired by our shared vision of Christ’s Kingdom, Catholic Charities is firmly committed to enhancing the social mission of the Church through:

Human Services
Providing a comprehensive range of human services to meet the needs of the poor and disadvantaged;

Assisting individuals through skills development, to become more self-sufficient;

Positive Social Change
Effecting social change through education, advocacy and collaborative strategies;

Promoting fair, equitable and humane treatment in social services which leads to more self-determination, self-sufficiency and basic human dignity.

Our Mission reflects and affirms the cultural diversity of the entire human family in the Archdiocese and throughout the communities we serve.
