Agency-Wide Programs

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Volleyball play-offs were held at St. John Chrysostom School.
Archdiocesan Youth Employment Services (AYE) serves 3,100 young clients, ages 14 to 21, to alleviate some of the serious problems facing youth, such as school dropout illiteracy, crime, teen pregnancy and unemployment. AYE achieves this goal through partnerships with employers, community-based organizations and local education agencies. Over 90% of the participants have received paid internships with public and private companies.

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is the largest privately funded youth program in California. Over 19,000 young athletes participate in 400 inter-scholastic events scheduled each week.

Central Intake Unit (CIU) maintains two programs that helped 20,279 newly arrived immigrants make the transition to American society — the Refugee Employment Training Program (REP) and the Refugee/Immigrant Training and Employment Program (RITE). REP services include case management, job skills assessment and referrals, in 16 languages. The RITE program is designed for non-English, non-Spanish speaking refugees and immigrants, who have lived in the U.S. for over 5 years, to find steady jobs.
