Folklorico dancers from Brownson House Community Center recently performed for the Governor of Jalisco, Mexico at an event in East Los Angeles.

Seventy five children were given school supplies and free hair cuts at the El Monte Community Services Center’s Back to School Day.
• Clinica de Salud-Sagrada Familia (Catholic Psychological Services) was opened in Pomona. One hundred eighteen clients received counseling services.

• The ADESTE program provided 460 children with a safe-haven after school during the school year and all day during the summer.

• Brother Miguel Center (Pomona), the El Monte Community Services Center, and Brownson House (East Los Angeles) together served 23,474 homeless and low-income individuals.

• Catholic Charities’ Housing and Employment Specialists reached 2,366 homeless individuals in El Monte, Pomona and West Covina. Two hundred thirteen families were helped to move into permanent housing while 76 heads of households successfully found jobs.

• The Welfare to Work Program at Brownson House served 71 clients, 32 of which were placed in unsubsidized placements and 20 in post employment education or training.

Thirty mothers were honored at a special celebration at Brownson House sponsored by Del Monte Food Products. Youth folklorico dancers entertained the crowd.
