2002-2003 Annual Report
Mission Statement
Inspired by our shared vision of Christ’s Kingdom, Catholic Charities is firmly committed to enhancing the social mission of the Church through:
  • Human Services
    Providing a comprehensive range of human services to meet the needs of the poor and disadvantaged;

  • Empowerment
    Assisting individuals, through skills development, to become more self-sufficient;

  • Positive Social Change
    Effecting social change through education, advocacy and collaborative strategies;

  • Social Justice
    Promoting fair, equitable and humane treatment in social services which leads to more self-determination, self sufficiency and basic human dignity.

Our Mission reflects and affirms the cultural diversity of the entire human family in the Archdiocese and throughout the communities we serve.

ADESTE (Archdiocese Elementary School Time Enrichment), in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, gives parents safe, affordable before-and-after-school child care. A client at the El Monte Community Services Center receives aid in the form of emergency food assistance.
