In addition to satisfying clients’ basic needs for emergency food and clothing, the Center provided case management, mental health services, motel vouchers, utility assistance, and referrals for vocational training. • “My Club” (Modeling for Youth Cooperation, Leadership, Unity and Bridges), a street outreach program of Angel’s Flight Runaway & Homeless Youth Services in South Los Angeles, provided youth (ages 10 to 17) with counseling, care, education, and referrals. At My Club, a troubled 10 year old boy, “William,” who could barely read and was on the verge of delinquency, was required to enroll in school, follow rules, do homework every day, get along with his peers, and be honest. By adhering to the program, he changed his future. |
