Catholic Charities Welcomes New Regional Directors
Catholic Charities of Los Angeles recently appointed new Directors in Santa Barbara and San Pedro Regions.

August 11, 2003. He has a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology and a doctorate in Public Administration. Among his extensive experience, Dr. Bognar served as Program Director for Family Services at Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Virginia and as overseer for the Regional Offices of Catholic Charities in Miami.
When asked about his new position, Dr. Bognar commented, “I am delighted to join in the work of Catholic Charities on the west coast. These are the “Days of Grace”...a time to help families find hope, dignity and a self-determined future. There is no better work and I feel honored to be a part of it.” His duties include overall management of Catholic Charities’ programs and services in the City of Santa Barbara and surrounding areas, as well as the underserved rural towns in north Santa Barbara County.

Anna Totta
San Pedro Regional Director
Ms. Anna Totta, newly selected San Pedro Regional Director, notes “I am glad to be back at Catholic Charities. I have always loved the spirit of the organization and the Catholic mission that underlies it.” In addition to earning a B.S. in Elementary Education and Masters degrees in English and Child Development, Ms. Totta was the Executive Director of Community Service Center, an agency of Catholic Charities in Kansas City, Kansas, as well as Vice President and Division Director of the Child Care/Head Start Services at Catholic Charities in Denver, Colorado. Her background in family and youth services will enable her to administer numerous Regional community services programs and the Elizabeth Ann Seton Residence in Long Beach.

Catholic Charities’ Golf Tournament Held at Riviera

The championship course at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades was the site of the Seventh Annual Cardinal Mahony Golf Tournament for Catholic Charities, held on Monday, October 6th. Tournament proceeds will be used to support Catholic Charities’ programs for the poor and homeless in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Monsignor Gregory A. Cox, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, is grateful to the generous sponsors and the other donors who contributed to the success of the tournament. (See page 2 for list of donors.) Committee members for the event were Vincent F. Martin, Jr., John C. Morrissey, William E. Simon, Jr. and Paul D. Tosetti.
