Older Adult Services and Intervention System (OASIS)
Program Description
This program provides seniors (60 years and older) with professional case management
services and volunteer support that enable
them to remain independent and avoid premature or unnecessary institutionalization. By taking care of
the older adults, Catholic Charities affirms their value and dignity in society.
OASIS provides information and referrals, advocacy and service coordination. Priority is given to older persons who are frail, isolated, physically and/or mentally limited, living in poverty, and without
family members to care for them. Case managers visit them in their homes in order to: assess their needs; determine physical and
mental abilities; and to develop care plans. Youth and adult volunteers
are assigned to clients when home visits and personal assistance are needed.
