Archdiocesan Youth Employment Service (AYE)

Program Description

The program provides internships, education and career guidance to young people in order to combat problems, such as illiteracy, crime, teen pregnancy and unemployment. This goal is accomplished through partnerships with employers, community groups, and local educational agencies. Since 1965, AYE has served over 65,000 young people and now annually provides over 2,000 youth with paid internship opportunities with 400 employers.

The program includes: education and career development services to improve basic skills; internships with private and public employers; support services for needy youth (such as transportation, child care, and clothing); need-based financial support for continued education and training; cultural enrichment; and mentoring and life skills training.
