Homeless Man at Project AchieveProject Achieve offers shelter to 59 people at a time and accepts people who have been turned away by other organizations due to challenging issues, such as mental illness, substance abuse, disability, age, or health related issues – especially HIV/AIDS.  Clients can stay at the shelter for up to 90 days and are provided with two meals per day, personal hygiene items and a recreation area.  Each client works with a case manager to develop an individualized plan that may include employment counseling, health care, housing placement, money management, mental health care, public assistance advocacy, substance abuse treatment services and/or veteran services. Clients are also encouraged to participate in a savings plan, which focuses on saving at least 80% of their adjusted income, to be used for future rental deposits and moving costs.

The ultimate goals of Project Achieve are to encourage stability and promote independence. Services focus on fostering personal growth, establishing employment and facilitating referrals to help residents achieve and maintain stable sources of income, developing healthy supportive social relationships and securing permanent housing.
