Angel's Flight Runaway & Homeless Youth Services:
Emergency Shelter; Street and Community Outreach
Program Description
The program offers street and community outreach, as well as
an emergency shelter for runaway or homeless youth. The Shelter accepts youth, 10-17 years old, who may stay for three weeks.
Services
are provided on a voluntary basis and the youth may leave at any time, recognizing that their program ends when they leave. The goal is to reunite the runaway and homeless youth with their families or to refer them
to safe settings such as a licensed group home or foster care.
Services for residents include food and clothing, medical care, classroom teaching, therapy and recreation.
MY CLUB (Modeling for Youth Cooperation, Leadership, Unity and Bridges), a program of Angel's Flight,
offers a safe place for youth 10-24 years of age in the high-risk area of South Los Angeles. The services
and activities include: tutoring; cooking workshop; art workshops; rap sessions; writing workshop; life-skills training; sports and recreational activities;
communication skills; and parenting classes.

Adeste Before-and-After-School Childcare Program
Program Description
The program provides low-cost before-and-after-school care for children of working parents from low and medium-income families. It is offered at Catholic schools, and some public schools, within the three-county area of Los Angeles and Ventura. Archdiocesan Youth Employment Service (AYE)
Program Description
The program provides internships, education and career guidance to
young people in order to combat problems, such as illiteracy, crime, teen pregnancy and unemployment. This goal
is accomplished through partnerships with employers, community groups, and local educational agencies. Since 1965, AYE has served
over 65,000 young people and now provides over 2,600 youth with paid internship opportunities with 400 employers.
The program services include: education and career development services to improve basic skills; internships with private and public employers;
support services for needy youth (such as transportation, child care, and clothing);
need-based financial support for continued education and training;

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)
Program Description
CYO was founded in 1936 to serve the complex needs of youth in greater Los Angeles. It is an after-school and weekend athletic program for Catholic elementary and junior high schools throughout Los Angeles County. The organization
promotes and develops good sportsmanship, physical fitness, and ethical values. Numerous athletic activities are available through
the program: football, basketball, track and field, volleyball for boys; football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, drill and cheer leading teams for girls.
